" BRINGING THE OUTDOORS TO YOUR SCHOOL"

Adventure 4 schools offer complete outdoor packages designed for your school at its location. We bring the outdoors to you. In the age of computer games, we believe it is a must for all young people to sample the basics of what the outdoors has to offer, and over the past few years we have seen the positive benefits of our in school program.

We operate in Counties, Tyrone, Derry, and Donegal and we build our packages around your location. Our program is based on a "session fee" and not per person.

Through our in-school program, students have progressed to various other outdoor activities, students that may have never even dreamed of ever taking part in such an event. We have also through our courses, seen natural talent in all aspects of the great outdoors and helped them on their way to improve their skills.

Gortin Glen School day events

Give your class a treat we are running activity sessions at Gortin Glen forest park from Easter 2012
Choose between any of the following activities.

Orienteering, Treasure Trail, Team Games, Gorge Walk , Archery Blindtrail.

Canoeing and raft Building available at Oak Lakes (transport required)

This will run at a day of your choice between 10am and 2pm

Canoeing & Archery at Moorlough

Canoeing, Archery and team games based at Moorlough Strabane
Maximum group numbers 30 persons

NEW ACTIVITY PROGRAM FOR FEBUARY-APRIL 2012

Adventure 4 schools offer outdoor activities at your schools location.
I am currently providing a eight week activity program which includes;

Archery                        Mountain skills & ropes
Orienteering                Bushcraft
Outdoor cooking         kayaking equipment and skills
Team games                Campcraft

Each activity lasts between 1hrs-1hrs 30min long.
This includes Insurance, Instruction and all equipment, with up to
24 students.

Adventure 4 schools 2010 -11

2011 proved to be a great year for adventure 4 schools with fifteen schools taking part in the activity program.
The activities proved to be a great success with pupils and teachers.
It was a great starting block in developing kids apprecation of the outdoors, and created great personal interest in certain activities.

Out of school activities

Other out of school activities include:

These activities can take place at a variety of locations that best suit your school.
If transport is ever a problem I can drive your schools minibus.

Four week Archery Program

Four to six week Archery session for an hour and fifteen minutes based on twelve students.
This course covers all basic knowledge required to partake in archery safely.

Gorge walking

Gorge walking is a very exciting and popular activity with students of all ages.
We have various gorges at different grades of difficulty to suit all ages.
These Gorges are based in Strabane, The Sperrins, Donegal and Newcastle co Down.

BCU LEVEL 1 & 2

we will be running a BCU level 1 & 2 for schools based over eight weeks.
These kayak sessions will take place at Moorlough Strabane, Gortin Lakes,
Gortin and Enagh Lough in Derry,

"COME & TRY SESSIONS"

We offer come and try taster sessions "a wee bit of everything" for example a days program could include:
Canoeing, Kayaking, Archery, Orienteering, Team games.
You decide what you would like to try a venue near you.

HILLWALKING & MOUNTAINEERING

Adventure 4 schools offers fantasic hillwalking experiences in some beautiful locations,
In the Sperrins, Derryveaghs, Bluestacks, Mournes and Sligo hills.
We also offer training in:

Navigation
Campcraft
Compass work
Outdoor cooking
General mountain skills

So wether it is a lovely relaxing dander for your class or an informitive walk
we have you covered.

BUSHCRAFT

Bushcraft skills are a favourite with all ages on our course you will learh how to;
Build natural shelters
Build various designs of shelters with Tarps
Start a fire from nature
How to cook outdoors
Fire starting using flints
Flora and Fauna
Survival doo's and dont's

ROCKCLIMBING

Rock climbing is fantastic experience for all groups and a great way of over coming fears.

RAFT BUILDING

Get your group active and creative with a raft building session, always good fun.
At a location of your choice. Session can consist of wood and barrels or rafted
open boats.

ORIENTEERING & COMPASS WORK

I have been running GCSE orienteering training courses and map reading skills.
I run begginer, intermediate, and advaced courses in orienteering for schools.
This course covers;
Setting maps, scale, features,grid references, thumbing, timing, pacing, attack points, speed, legs, contouring etc.
Great course based at Gortin Glen, St Columbs Park and Roe Valley.

THE YUCKY MUCKY WELLIE WALK

You need nerves of steel for the yucky mucky wellie walk, at our secret location.

COASTEERING

We provide coasteering sessions in the North Coast, North Donegal and West Donegal, a fantastic and thrilling experience and at various grades and levels.

OPEN CANOE CAMPING

Personal favourite, come with us as we explore the many islands that Lough Erne has to offer.Camp or Bivvy, cook over an open fire and sample the flora and fauna of this unbelieveable place.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Come mountain biking with us around lough Eske and the Bluestack trail or a trip around Glenveagh National Park.
